Employer Not Paying EPF Contribution
Did you check your Employees Provident Fund (EPF) account regularly? What if your employer not paying the EPF contribution for you? It is their MANDATORY responsibility to contribute for employees’ EPF savings. Else, report to KWSP, the following legal actions will be taken on them:
- Fine not more than RM 10,000 or Jail Sentence not more than 3 years or both.
- Instituting levy action or having civil claims brought up against directors of company.
- Company directors’ passports will be held to prevent them from leaving the country.
Bear in mind, EPF savings are mainly for old age, it help us to have a better retirement life. Therefore, be a smart employee, protect your right today, and do check your payslip and EPF account statement regularly.
You may get the updates from EPF office, EPF Smart Kiosks, or even easier now by checking it online via EPF i-Account. Register an i-Account with KWSP, then you may access to your EPF account from time to time.
